Today we swear in a new president. And like all fairly elected leaders, we must give him his chance to lead and govern. Only time will tell if he truly is "The One",. politically speakin. I know there are many who have put their faith in his political skill and intellect. Let's hope they're right.
But, there is a greater hope. As Isaiah spoke about the salvation of Jacob's descendants and the hope for Israel, these words apply to our nation even today. Our true hope is in the Lord.
"Listen to me, you who pursue righteousness and who seek the Lord: Look to the rock from which you were cut and to the quarry from which you were hewn.." Isaiah 51:1
If we wish to look forward and be a "progressive" people, we should first remember what got us here. Our faith, our trust, and our hope is in the Lord Jesus Christ.
